Group Swim Lessons
Levels correspond with the Red Cross Swim Lesson levels. All classes are 30 minutes long. All ages (except Aqua Babies) are approximate.
Overflow classes may be added at different times.

Class Descriptions
Aqua Babies
5:30 - 6:00 pm
Ages: 6 months - 3 years
Must be with parent/guardian and must wear a swim diaper. Water adjustment course.
Guppies - Level I
6:00 - 6:30 pm
Ages: 3 and up (Must be toilet trained).
Six children will be in the class with one instructor. No parents please. Intro to water skills; no previous lessons required.
Blue Gills - Level II 
6:30 - 7:00 pm
Must be able to: Float on front and back, open eyes underwater and submerge to pick up an object, exhale underwater, some beginning crawl and back strokes. Purpose: Develops and gives students success with fundamental aquatic skills.
Barracudas - Level III
5:30 - 6:00 pm
Must be able to: Tread water, float and glide on front and back, swim on front and back using combined strokes, open eyes under-water, submerge head to pick up object, perform rhythmic breathing. Purpose: Build on skills learned in Level 2 and develop skills necessary to progress to Level 4.
Marlins - Level IV
6:00 - 6:30 pm
Must be able to: Jump into deep water from the side, perform rotary breathing, perform butterfly kick and body motion, dive from sitting or kneeling position, do survival float, swim front crawl and backstroke, perform reaching assists, and bob with head fully submerged. Purpose: Build on skills learned in Level 3, develop strokes and skills needed to progress to Level 5.
Sharks - Level V
6:30 - 7:00 pm
Must be able to: Dive from compact or stride position; swim breaststroke, front crawl backstroke, beginning butterfly stroke and elementary backstroke; tread water; swim underwater, perform throwing assists, perform feet-first surface dive, swim on side using scissors kick. Purpose: Provide further coordination and stroke refinement.
