Fitness Classes

The Centre offers a large variety of group exercise classes for various groups such as: Ladies Only, Coed, SilverSneakers for older adults, Specialty classes, and Aquatic Fitness on a regular basis. We strive to offer a broad variety of classes with various levels for beginners to experienced, such as stretch, pilates, fitball, aerobic step, cardio & tone, kickboxing, dance styles, circuit, and aquatic. Enjoy taking these classes in our new spacious Group Fitness rooms or Gym. Most equipment such as weights, balls, and matts are provided. To learn more about these classes, scroll down. All the classes except Specialty & Centre Cycling are included in a Centre membership! If you're not a member, you're welcome to take advantage of our flexible day pass option. Join a class anytime!

Ladies Only Fitness Classes

For the most current class schedule, click here.  (B): Beginner,  (I): Intermediate,  (A):  Advanced.

Body Sculpt:  (B/I/A) Body sculpting will shape the body and define muscles to improve physique and balance. The combination of cardiovascular and strength training may include step, kick boxing, dance moves, medicine ball, free weights, resistance bands and stability ball to a variety of music genres. This class is designed for novice and seasoned individuals. 

Cardio Mix:  (B/I/A) Includes a warm-up and 50 minutes of cardio (step, floor and kickboxing) as well as intervals of balance and core strengthening. Class concludes with a stretch segment.

Pilates:  (B/I/A) Unite the mind and body to gain core strength, control, consciousness, balance and symmetry. This original mat workout focuses on controlled, graceful movements in order to streamline the muscles by lengthening and strengthening them. This non-aggressive workout is a great addition to balance your weekly exercise routine. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sticky mat. Class will be conducted without shoes.

Piloxing®:  (B/I/A) Piloxing is a program that uniquely mixes Pilates and boxing into a fat blasting and muscle toning workout! Piloxing blends the power, speed and agility of boxing with the beautiful sculpting and flexibility of Pilates. Added to that are fun dance moves incorporated by the instructor. Class will be conducted without shoes.

Power Stretch:  (B/I/A) Combines Pilates, yoga and traditional strength moves for total body conditioning. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sticky mat. Class will be conducted without shoes.

Step:  (I/A) Step training using a platform bench. This class is a unique way to improve the overall cardiovascular system.  Suitable for intermediate to advanced levels, but beginners are welcome to try.

Step Interval:  (I/A) This intermediate to advanced class alternates between step combinations and weight training. You will burn maximum calories by bringing your heart rate up and down. Suitable for intermediate to advanced levels, but beginners are welcome to try.

Step & Strength:  (I/A) This class combines step with weight training.  A great way to get cardiovascular and muscular training in one class!  Suitable for intermediate to advanced levels, but beginners are welcome to try.

Stretch:  (B/I/A) Combines Pilates, yoga and traditional strength moves for total body conditioning. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sticky mat. Class will be conducted without shoes.

ZUMBA®: (B/I/A) Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be “FUN AND EASY TO DO" allowing participants to stick to the Zumba Fitness program and achieve long-term health benefits.  Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind.

Coed Fitness Classes

These classes are for men, women, and children.  Please refer to the class schedule for location.  For the most current class schedule, click here.

20/20/20:  (B/I) Bring some balance into your life.  Enjoy the benefits of a stronger core, increased balance and more endurance for sports, recreation activities or the everyday chores of life.  This class will be divided into equal segments of basic cardio, core and functional balance training.  Train hard and feel Great!

Boot Camp 101:  (B/I/A) Go easy or hard, your choice!  This circuit class with music will consist of work with medicine balls, kettlebells, stability ball, tubes, steps, cones, agility ladder and hand weights.  Be ready for a fun, full body workout that gives both cardiovascular and muscular training.

Centre Cycling:  (B/I/A) Indoor cycling is a group exercise class done on stationary bikes.  During the class the instructor simulates the ride.  Together, you travel on flat roads, climb hills, sprint and race!  You can indoor cycle when it is raining or snowing outside.  You are kept motivated by the instructor, the people around you and by the music.  Get ready for a fun, fantastic cardiovascular workout!

Fitball:  (B/I/A) This class uses a fitness ball to improve strength and endurance of your core and other major muscles.  Please note that fitballs are available on a first come basis.  Please feel free to bring your own ball.

Have a Ball:  (B/I) Enjoy the fun of fitness with a fitness/stability ball.  This workout combines the benefits of core training and strength training by incorporating the use of a stability ball.

Interval Training:  (B/I/A) This class combines cardio and strength intervals for maximum fat-burning. Cardio intervals may include step, kickboxing, ball and traditional floor aerobics. Strength intervals may utilize heavy and light free weights, large and small balls, steps and straps.  Great for those new to exercise, as well as seasoned participants.

Pilates/Stretch Mix:  (B/I/A) This class will combine exercises from both the Pilates and yoga traditions to strengthen and stretch all major muscle groups. Workout may include small balls, medicine balls, large balls, body bars, weights, straps and blocks for a complete total body workout. Participants are encouraged to bring their own sticky mat. Class will be conducted without shoes.

Power 90 Plus:  (B/I/A)  Power 90 Plus takes components from P90 & P90X to create an intense workout that combines stretching, power yoga, cardio, kicking ,boxing, core strength and jumping rope to condition, strengthen and improve your flexibility.

Turbo Kick:  (B/I/A) Turbo Kick is a combination of intense cardio kickboxing moves as well as dance moves all choreographed to high energy music. It is a mixture of high intense interval training that includes strength and endurance.

Xtreme Explosion:  (I/A)  Xtreme is an amazing group exercise experience which incorporates weights, medicine balls, etc. into an effective resistance training routine targeting upper body, lower body and core. Each week the routine changes to continue to target different muscles producing tone, definition, endurance and strength.

Xtreme Kickbox:  (B/I/A) Kick up your fitness and health with this unique class.  Xtreme Kickbox combines the aerobic and fun of kickboxing with intervals of strength training with a plethora of equipment that will help tone and shape your body. This class is designed to challenge any fitness level from the beginner to Xtreme fitness enthusiast. Instructors are able to modify any exercise to fit your needs. Take the next step and kick away those pounds and get that ripped body!

SilverSneakers® Fitness Classes

SilverSneakers or SilverSplash group fitness classes are appropriate for older adults who are fit and active as well as those who are sedentary, intimidated, unfamiliar with exercise, or those entering post-rehabilitation programs. SilverSneakers Cardio Circuit: Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout! Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.  *The ability to stand for 30 minutes is a requirement for this class.

SilverSneakers Muscular Strength & Range of Movement:  Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers Silver Stretch:  This new class is designed to challenge you  physically and mentally with a variety of simple and safe stretch exercises that you will do at your own pace. Using a chair for support, you will increase flexibility, build endurance and learn how to relax and think more clearly.

Specialty Fitness Classes

The Centre often partners with outside trainers to offer Specialty classes. These are not included in Centre membership and therefore have their own fee structure. (A Day Pass is not required for those participating in a Specialty class exclusively.) These classes are for men, women, and children and are located in the Courts or Group Fitness A. TKD Karate - Chung Do: Kick your way to better flexibility, improved fitness discipline, self-defense and increased self-confidence! Entire families are encouraged to participate together. Strong emphasis is placed on family values, as expressed in our Tenets of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit. Open to all ages and abilities (from 5 to 105).
